Description

Le Clos de la Treille is a two-bedroom self-catering flat conveniently situated in 'Greater Bordeaux', on the way to Arcachon and at a stone's throw from the Pessac-Leognan châteaux.
Fully refurbished in 2014 by its bilingual French owners, it is part of a former hunting lodge built in 1790. It can accommodate 1 to 4 guests (ideally 4) and is elder and child-friendly.
Although guests might have to share the 3800 sq. yards garden with their hosts, they will have their own terrasse, roofed parking space, and barbecue.
The flat is independent and separated from the main house by a double door and is fully equiped with dishwasher, washing-machine and dryer, microwave and traditional ovens, as well as a very larger boiler, quality mattresses and even British T.V. channels !
For your convenience, the rental is all inclusive (taxes, all bills and linen) and your first breakfast is provided (but not cooked) free of charge.
Valérie and Jean-Luc, your hosts, will be more than happy to tell you about the places of interest in the area. If you are interested in local cuisine, Valérie can show you how she still cooks on vine shoots from her family's former wine estate.

What's included in the price

  • One breakfast (not cooked) for all the guests

  • Baby equipment on request: travel cot, tray booster, changing mat, step -up stool, toilet seat, potty, plastic bath, beach toys and much more. We have two young children ourselves.
  • The use of the barbecue which will have to be cleaned by the tenant after use.
  • A few basic supplies : salt, pepper, cooking oil, homemade wine vinegar, tea, organic garden herbal teas, coffee filters, 1 jar of homemade jam, 1 packet of quality coffee.
  • Various cleaning products, washing up tablets, washing capsules, washing up liquid, ironing water, aluminium foil, shampoo, soap, body lotion.

Not included:

  • Taxe de séjour (occupancy tax) 1.44 € per adult per night
  • Bath towels (for hire at €7)
  • Bed linen (€10 or €14)
  • The cleaning of the barbecue
  • Charcoal

Booking & Enquiries

Conditions

  • The "gîte" is stricly non-smoking
  • Pets are not allowed
  • Down payment: 30% of total rental
  • Total rental payment due a minimum of 14 days before the beginning of the lease either by French cheque , international bank transfert (in euros only) or “Paypal” (paypal fee applies)
  • Security deposit: 400 Euros: French cheque (not cashed) to be sent with payment or payment in cash (also possible in US Dollars or Sterling Pounds) on day of arrival for foreign guests. We will give you a receipt.
  • An appropriate personal indemnity insurance should be taken by the tenant to cover any possible damage that may be caused.

Cancellation fees :

  • Cancellation at least 30 days before the rental: 100% refund minus "Paypal" or international bank transfert service fees.
  • Cancellation at least 14 days before the rental: 70 % refund (we'll keep your 30% down payment).
  • Cancellation between 13 to 7 days before the rental: 50% refund.
  • Cancellation less than 7 days before the rental: 50 Euro refund (equivalent to the cleaning fee, water, electricity and heating for a one-week rental)
  • If the length of stay is shortened by the tenant, no refund is possible.

How to book?

  • 1. Contact us by email or phone to check if the flat is available and tell us how you would like to pay (French cheque, international bank transfer or “Paypal” (please add 6% to the price for Paypal charges) ).
  • 2. If the flat is available, we will send you 2 copies of the rental contract (in French and in English), the detailed inventory (in French and in English) and -- if applicable -- our bank account details or “Paypal” information.
  • 3. You will then send back to us either the down payment or full payment -- depending on the reservation date -- as well as a signed copy of the contract (see reservation conditions). We will send you a receipt listing the amount paid and the booking confirmation.
  • 4. You will have 24 hours after your arrival to notify any faulty appliance or mistake in the inventory which will be used as the document of reference on the day of your departure to give you the security deposit back.
